Steakhouse Mac & Cheese
This bold-flavored pasta dish is inspired by a classic steakhouse. Rich and creamy with just a hint of horseradish, it pairs perfectly with tender Keystone Beef for a hearty, satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 can (28 oz.) Keystone Beef, drained and chopped
- 1/2 lb. Fusilli pasta
- 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter
- 2 Tbsp. All-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Whole milk
- 1 cup Extra-sharp white cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 Tbsp. Horseradish
- Green onion, chopped, for garnish
Steps
- In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, until smooth.
- Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, for about 2 minutes, until thickened.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in both cheeses until melted.
- Add cooked pasta to the cheese mixture. Stir for 2–3 minutes, until heated through. If too thick, stir in 1/4 cup water at a time to reach desired consistency.
- Stir in Keystone Beef and heat through. Garnish with chopped green onion and serve immediately.
